january meal planning
A major way we have slimmed down our budget is by meal planning. It also reduces my “oh crap what am I going to make for dinner” anxiety at 5:00 every night :-) It also reduces the number of trips to the grocery store each week which is a HUGE way to save money. I usually do week by week meal planning but the other day I decided to try and do a menu plan for the month and it was surprisingly easy. Each week I’ll go the store and get what I need for the meals and I will know each day that I have ingredients on hand to make any of those meals. I don’t always stick exactly to what I have slated for a particular day, but I’m usually not too far off. I mean if Kris says “hey want pizza tonight” I’m NEVER going to say no! Anyways, here is a glimpse of what I have slated for January.
And I’ve got tonight’s teriyaki tenderloin in the crock pot as we speak, yummm.
