Almost 3 Months!
Finley has been getting so excited when we put her on her play mat. It seems to be the mirror hanging from it that she loves the most, there’s nothing cuter than seeing your baby smile huge when she sees herself in the mirror. She also loves when Kris plays the guitar for her. She will just stare at his hand strumming on the strings. (Videos below)
Yesterday we took her out to Discovery park for a walk and picnic. She smiled the entire time, except when she was sleeping. The fresh air must have felt good! She is such a good baby, we couldn’t ask for more. Every day we learn something new, here are some things she doing at just shy of 3 months old.
- She falls asleep as soon as I hold her on my chest (she likes this much better than her crib!). She also falls asleep or at least closes her eyes when I rub her forehead and in between her eyes.
- Just this week she started rubbing her eyes when she is tired.
- She is addicted to her binky and I fully support the habit! (We’ll transition away from it at some point)
- She makes the sweetest noises.
- When she tries to laugh or “fake” cry she starts coughing.
- She smiles as soon as Kris or I talk to her and make funny faces… so we end up making funny faces most of the day.
- She loves to eat and it doesn’t matter if the bottle is freezing cold.
- She gets so happy when she sees herself in the mirror. Her two favorite toys are the mirror on the play mat and the mirror on the swing.
- She is always content being in her swing.
- She would stare at bright lights for hours if we let her.
- She loves car rides.
- I’m convinced that her favorite part of the day is when we give her a bath. She could be fussing and I’ll put her in the bath and she lights right up.
- She seems to recognize our voices.
- She kicks her legs and waves her arms when she is excited.
- She likes tummy time for about 2 minutes and then starts making an “uh uh uh” noise like she is so over it.
- She really only cries when she is hungry or super tired and stops as soon as we feed her or hold her.
- She is sleeping in her crib really well but does wake up sometimes when her binky falls out… LOVE that binky.
- She seems to enjoy when we read her books, but I think it’s the sound of our voices that she really likes.
We can’t even describe how proud of her we are. We love this little girl so much and are thankful every day that she is here with us, happy and healthy.

She's growing so quickly! Sophia has always loved the mirror too (more so than Zachary -- I think there's some truth to girls being more people-oriented than boys). Here's a video of her with the mirror. :)
